From 3 to 7 June in the UNESCO heritage site of Ichan Kala fortress in Khiva, the WSF with cooperation of Uzbekistan Ministry of tourism and the Governor Office of Khorezm province are organizing the Second International Tournament “Pahlavon Mahmud` Strongmen Games”.

The international tournament is held in honour of the 13th century wrestler, poet, philosopher and Sufi master Pahlavon Mahmud Khorezmi. The great Khorezmian wrestler and the poet has been highly esteemed around Central Asian countries, in Iran, Azerbaijan and India for centuries.
Well-known athletes and international judges from Azerbaijan, Brazil, India, Australia, Iran, Uzbekistan, Poland, France, Spain, Italy, Japan will participate in the tournament.

The event is aimed to contribute to the expansion of international cooperation in sports tourism, improving the image of Uzbekistan, promoting cultural exchange. Most importantly it will promote a healthy lifestyle and stimulate young people’s interest in sports.
